The project aims to provide the user with an alert system for when an accident is probable. It is done by constantly calculating the safe following distance of their vehicle and the one in front all in reference to their real time speed. Project motivation stemmed from the need to mitigate bad accidents as a result of distracted drivers on the road, particularly those with ADHD or those who lack sustained focus. This device is not meant by any means to replace conscientious driving and does not control the vehicle it is installed on.
My plan was to incorporate the Garmin Lidar Lite v3 after many tests using other distance-finding systems.
I would like to revisit this project with fresh eyes.
