Leonardo DRS, EOIS (Sept 2019 – Feb 2021)
Intern, Part-time, Full-time
My “professional” engineering “career” began at Leonardo DRS within their Electro-Optical Infra-Red Systems (EOIS) line of business.
I was on the systems engineering team for the Family of Weapon Sights – Crew Served government contract.
While I can’t discuss the specifics of the project, I can link the information from Leonardo DRS’ website HERE.
I contributed the following to the project:
- Worked on the software release process
- Worked with quality and reliability engineers to release software versions, per our SOPs
- Drafted software verification documents (software test plans)
- Redlined testing documents
- Redlined and corrected system requirements in IBM DOORS
- Requirement traceability
- Conducted software verification tests to ensure we were meeting our system requirements
- Analyzed test data
- Documented issues in JIRA
- Assisted with root cause determination
- Would dedicate time to find software bugs, to replicate and document them for our software engineer to correct
- Worked closely with project leadership, software systems and quality engineering departments to coordinate efforts and report software findings
- Developed systems to increase the efficiency of troubleshooting and testing processes such as VBA and MATLAB scripts
