Mario Sultan Designs is the personal design platform I created that housed all the projects I participated in over the last few years.
During the fall of 2022, I decided to create an entity for which I can advertise design services through. I posted services on Facebook Marketplace providing custom design solutions for anyone who needs a hard to find part, a custom jig made or anything in between. I co-created with really wonderful people, with such diverse requests, backgrounds and ideas – making it a worthwhile endeavor.
This year, I decided to pursue Mario Sultan Designs full-time.
I developed a simple website to funnel clients and prospects, to promote my services.
I also updated my “logo” as seen below. Logo, aka, the image placeholder I had on Instagram while I created my real art.
While I created new products, or inventions, I shared my work and services across several platforms, like Cults3D, Facebook Marketplace, and now Etsy and eBay.
Broken Car-Key FixIt Case
A student in my class came to me complaining that he keeps losing his car keys. After asking him why, he proceeds to pull out one loose key. A few hours of measuring, modeling, printing and prototyping, we have a solution.
Mystery Boxes
I was introducing observational experimentation in my physics and engineering classes as an activity. These “Mystery Boxes” were designed and 3D printed and a marble was placed inside. The boxes were then given to students and told to play around with it, experiment different “moves” to figure out the inside cavity shape. They wrote down their observations and told to test them.
Physics Demonstration – Simultaneous Ball Launcher & Dropper
Designed and built for my physics classroom. In 2D Kinematics, we learn about the independence of horizontal and vertical motion. Both balls hit the ground at the same time because they accelerate downwards at the same time, regardless of launch speed. This teaching device I modeled helps demonstrate this.
Free Body Diagram Practice Tools
Attachable Kayak Fin
A Kayak fin attachment that allows a strap to pass through it and attach to most boats. I made this for a kayak I had that couldn’t track straight at all. This was a prototype model before it would’ve been permanently mounted. (Sold it before I got to do that)
Samsung Fridge Door Handle Bracket Solution
Simple yet functional. This plate was designed to be epoxied to a broken Samsung refrigerator door handle that was split in half. No longer need a new $500 door.
Custom Cap for a Hopper Container
Cap and reinforcement base for a hopper.
Trig Tool for Students
A tool I created which helps students determine which component vector is which side and therefore help with determining which trig function to use. Some students really need that extra support.
Tandem Bike Tensioner Puller Fix
The tandem bike I purchased for my proposal had a broken chain idler/tensioner pulley. A few measurements later, printed a solution for that fix. Printed in PETG for its weather resistance and durability.
