I was fascinated by sailing early on, many years before actually sailing. Many hours were spent researching sail and hull designs and that began my sailboat project. I used wood I had in the garage as the mast and boom, attached to different points on our kayak holding it in position. I attached a bed sheet to my makeshift mast. On the day of its maiden journey, my dad called off the project, claiming it is too dangerous. My pivot was to attach it to a pedal cart. So sailboat turned into sail cart. It didn’t work for obvious reasons but it was pivotal in my early days as an inventor.
